چکیده

We consider the q-deformed binomial distribution introduced by Jing 1994 and Chung et al. 1995 and establish several convergence results involving the Euler and the exponential distribution; some of them are qanalogues of classical results.

CONVERGENCE PROPERTIES OF KEMP’S q-BINOMIAL DISTRIBUTION

We consider Kemp’s q-analogue of the binomial distribution. Several convergence results involving the classical binomial, the Heine, the discrete normal, and the Poisson distribution are established. Some of them are q-analogues of classical convergence properties. From the results about distributions, we deduce some new convergence results for (q-)Krawtchouk and q-Charlier polynomials. Besides...

ON A FAMILY OF q-BINOMIAL DISTRIBUTIONS

We introduce a family of q-analogues of the binomial distribution, which generalises the Stieltjes-Wigert-, Rogers-Szegö-, and Kemp-distribution. Basic properties of this familiy are provided and several convergence results involving the classical binomial, Poisson, discrete normal distribution, and a family of q-analogues of the Poisson distribution are established. These results generalise co...

ar X iv : m at h - ph / 9 81 20 28 v 1 2 8 D ec 1 99 8 ( q , h ) – analogue of Newton ’ s binomial formula

In this letter, the (q, h)–analogue of Newton’s binomial formula is obtained in the (q, h)–deformed quantum plane which reduces for h = 0 to the q–analogue. For (q = 1, h = 0), this is just the usual one as it should be. Moreover, the h–analogue is recovered for q = 1. Some properties of the (q, h)–binomial coefficients are also given. This result will contribute to an introduction of the (q, h...

h–analogue of Newton’s binomial formula

In this letter, the h–analogue of Newton’s binomial formula is obtained in the h–deformed quantum plane which does not have any q–analogue. For h = 0, this is just the usual one as it should be. Furthermore, the binomial coefficients reduce to n! (n−k)! for h = 1. Some properties of the h–binomial coefficients are also given. Finally, I hope that such results will contribute to an introduction ...

An Alternative to the Beta-Binomial Distribution with Application in Developmental Toxicology

The beta-binomial distribution is resulted when the probability of success per trial in the binomial distribution varies in successive trials and the mixing distribution is from the beta family. For experiments with binary outcomes, often it may happen that observations exhibit some extra binomial variation and occur in clusters. In such experiments the beta-binomial distribution can generally ...
